Bible Society Day with Catholic Seminarians
On April 22, 2023, Bible Society – Lebanon organized a workshop-day for seminarians at the Maronite Patriarchal Seminary in Ghazir with 180 participants.
The workshops provided a comprehensive learning experience to deacons, clergy, and future priests, focusing on key themes such as biblical trauma recovery, partnership, resilience, and group dynamics. Such soft skills will enhance their future pastoral work and community interaction.
Bible Society Programs Coordinator, SD Joe Eid, introduced the workshops and their respective presenters. The five workshops were conducted by Master Facilitator Naji Fakhoury who gave the workshop: “A step towards recovery from Trauma”; Volunteer Elias Tawk: “For your sake, you are a partner”; Clinical Psychologist Rita Zakhour: “A better understanding of the concept of resilience and its impact on our lives”; Creative Programs Supervisor Paul Saado: “For your sake and the group’s sake”; and SD Joe Eid: “The concept of church leadership in the Bible.”
The workshops were a resounding success, followed by the distribution of two scholarly editions of the original manuscripts to all participants to further support their Biblical learning. The event provided the future clergy of the Levant with valuable opportunities to deepen their knowledge and understanding of key themes while strengthening their connections within their communities and enhancing their Biblical education.
Overall, the workshops were highly appreciative, informative and educational that showcased the Bible Society’s commitment to providing top-quality bible-based learning opportunities for Seminarians.
The Bible Society’s mission is to spread the Holy Bible’s message and culture to all generations through translating, publishing, and distributing the Scriptures using visual, audio-visual, readable, and digital formats, encouraging people to read and engage with God’s Word, advocating the Bible cause to uphold human dignity, and partnering with all Churches and Christian institutions.
