Thirty participants from Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq completed the training and were certified as Apprentice Facilitators which allows them to apply for this program with children in their communities.
After completing the three-day classroom training, the participants shared a five-day camp in collaboration with Kids Alive refugee school kids. For 5 days, 56 kids came together and shared their stories and experiences each in their own group. The kids had a lovely time, learning about characters in the Bible and relating their stories to them. The best part were the games and self-expressive activities, and most importantly the closing ceremony in which they shared what they had learned with their parents. Each group presented what they learned in the past 5 days through sketches, hymns or bible verse presentations. It was amazing to see how much they absorbed in just a small amount of time.
The Bible Society’s vision is to holistically meet the needs of communities through the transforming Word of God. As a Christian inter-confessional, ecumenical, non-profit organization, it works to spread the Holy Bible’s message and culture to all generations through translating, publishing, and distributing the Scriptures using visual, audio-visual, readable, and digital formats, encouraging people to read and engage with God’s Word, advocating the Bible cause to uphold human dignity, and partnering with all Churches and Christian institutions.
