April 05, 2017 @ 10:07 At the end of 2015, we celebrated the 150th year of the launching of the Van Dyck Arabic Bible translation with a very special and unique fundraising project, the believers’ handwritten Bible.
Over 50 churches in Lebanon participated in copying the Van Dyck Arabic Bible. Each church chose a book of the Bible and the church members then divided its chapters/verses among themselves for writing. Some books were also written by the bible society Lebanon team in addition to other individuals who expressed an interest in partaking in this project.
The handwritten Bible turned out to be of dimensions 44 x 35 x 31 cm and weighs 30kgs.
