The Lent season did not pass by quietly this year at our B4L Youth Center. Many Catholic schools led their students to participate in the Lent program specially designed for teenagers in order to give them a good Biblical grounding about the real sense of Easter and the Gospels readings during the Sunday Mass during this period. The schools kept on calling to reserve their places, but we had to apologize for not being able to host them all. Some of the schools were upset for not having the opportunity to send their students, so we decided to host their students at the conference room in the Bible Society building to allow them to participate in the program. More than 625 students experienced and enjoyed the attractive two-hours program; they played sketches, illustrated the New Testament parables, played different Biblical games, and shared about their personal spiritual life.
Following are some of their testimonies:
“I always thought that committed Christians were boring people. Now I’m interested to be committed too and to read the Bible; I never thought that a Christian program can be this much amusing,” said one of the girls.
“I’ve never been interested in anything related to Jesus; I was always feeling like He is so far from me. But after coming here today, I feel like I want to know Jesus, who He really is, and everything about Him,” shared a 17 years old young man.
After one of the sketches, the teacher approached the monitor saying: “You see this guy who played the role of Jesus in the sketches? He is not a Christian!”
“I have learned many new things today and I am so happy, but one thing that really touched my heart, from the story of the Prodigal Son: it’s that a son will always stay a son whatever he does, he will never become a Servant!”
