He was born on 7 September 1930 in Jal al-Deeb. He completed his elementary, intermediate and secondary studies at the apostles’ school in Jounieh.
He holds a BA in theology, French, and Lebanese rights. He also attained Bachelor’s degrees in literature and Education.
He was ordained priest on 25 April 1959 and a bishop on 23 August 1975.
He was head for many Christian organizations and churches, some of which are: the Board of Directors of Tele Lumière, the Maronite Social Foundation, the Mar Youssef School of Qurnat Shehwan, the Episcopal Committee for Media in Lebanon, the Patriarchal Vicar General and others.
The Bible Society honored him in 2011 for his ecclesial service and his keenness to deliver the Word of God to all people.
