God gives instructions to Noah to build an ark because He wanted to save Noah and his family from the flood that was to come.

Noah obeyed the Lord and entered the boat with his family and one female and male from every animal species. Seven days later, the rain started.
The flood is over and God tells Noah to get out of the ark with his family and all the animals.
God promises Noah and every living creature that the earth and those living on it will never again be destroyed by a flood.
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”
