Book of Life Leadership Development Program 2025-2026
The Bible Society launched the Book of Life Leadership Development Program in October 2025 to help participants deepen their knowledge
of the Bible, grow in their faith and develop a biblical understanding of leadership.
The four Modules of the program took the participants on a journey from a general introduction to the Bible, through the Old and New Testaments, and finally to the principles and practices of biblical leadership.
Throughout the program, participants committed to 40 weekly sessions, demonstrated strong commitment, actively contributed to discussions
and gradually developed a more informed and structured approach to reading and applying Scripture.
Module One: Introduction to the Bible
The first module explored the role of the Bible in shaping human civilization and introduced participants to its history, structure and main components. Participants also learned to recognize different literary genres and engage more thoughtfully with various translations and interpretations of Scripture.
Reflecting on the experience, one participant shared: “It was a module full of useful information. Although it was difficult at times, especially during the history lessons, it was very beneficial and prepared us to continue our journey through the remaining modules.”
Module Two: Introduction to the Old Testament
The second module provided participants with a deeper understanding of the Old Testament and its historical, geographical and
literary background.
The sessions helped participants approach the Old Testament with greater clarity, understand its complexities and address some of the questions and challenges that arise when reading its texts.
One participant said: “I had thought the Old Testament was more complex, but after watching the sessions, the picture became clearer and the information was fascinating. I wish we had more time to go even deeper.”
Module Three: Introduction to the New Testament
The third module offered a structured and meaningful introduction to the New Testament. The sessions began with the formation of the New Testament canon, its cultural environment and the principles of biblical interpretation. Participants then explored the Synoptic Gospels, selected
passages from Mark, the Gospels of Matthew, Luke and John, the Acts of the Apostles, the life and letters of Saint Paul, the Catholic Epistles and the
Book of Revelation.
Beyond increasing their knowledge, the module encouraged participants to allow the Word of God to shape their prayer, choices, relationships and daily lives.
One participant shared: “This module helped us read the New Testament with new eyes. It gave us a deeper understanding of the context, the message and how the Word of God can speak to our lives today.”
Another participant said:“This module is a testimony to the importance of in-depth knowledge in deepening our faith.”
Module Four: Biblical Leadership
The fourth module explored leadership in the Bible and the early Church, biblical leadership models and styles, strategic and visionary leadership, team leadership, servant leadership, crisis leadership, confrontational leadership and the leadership model of Jesus Christ.
Participants were able to connect leadership principles with their ministries, workplaces and personal lives. They discovered that biblical leadership is not simply about authority or influence. It is rooted in service, stewardship, humility, vision, accountability and faithfulness to the example of Jesus.
One participant shared: “I never looked at the stories in the Bible in this way. I am amazed at how much the Bible can teach us. Thank you, Bible Society.”
Another participant, reflecting on the connection between faith and professional experience, said: “My background is in business, so I knew many of the leadership principles discussed. However, seeing them explained from a biblical perspective was life-changing for me.”
Graduation Celebration
After completing this journey through all four modules, approximately 100 participants celebrated their graduation from the Book of Life Leadership
Development Program on 26 September 2026.
Participants joined the celebration both in person in Lebanon and remotely from different countries where they currently reside, reflecting the program’s wide reach and the strong commitment of its participants.
The celebration recognized their commitment, perseverance and achievements throughout the program. More importantly, it marked the beginning of a new stage in which they can carry what they have learned into their churches, ministries, workplaces and communities.
The Book of Life Program has equipped its participants not only to understand the Bible more deeply, but also to live its message and lead others with faith, humility and a spirit of service.
