The Bible Society hosted two Bible-based trauma healing trainings on the Children and Adult’s curriculums.
The children’s training, conducted in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools in Lebanon, was held on March 14-15 for catechism/bible teachers who will be implementing this curriculum with school children in the classroom. The training, which is given in an interactive way, engages participants in practical exercises and scriptural guidance to process grief and take meaningful steps toward healing.
The adult training, which took place on March 21-22, was open to church volunteers, providing all trainees with valuable insights and tools for trauma healing.
A total of 60 participants participated in both trainings, all enthusiastic to explore the connection between faith and emotional healing.
All participants explored key information, understanding suffering in light of God’s love and recognizing that a wounded heart can be healed in the grieving process to reach true forgiveness.
The shared activities allowed each person to understand their own experiences and express their pain to God. Forgiveness is never easy, and learning to forgive others as part of this healing journey proved to be an important step in embracing true healing.
When we hear a participant say “I believe that today I have started the phase of recovery”, we know that this training is a blessing to many.
The impact of this training was portrayed in the testimonies shared by the participants:
“My personal experience is that if a person deepens his faith and is in constant dialogue and prayer with the Lord who dwells deep within him, and places wounds before the cross, much of the pain will be eased, and will realize that Christ grieves over our grief, suffers with our pain, and always walks with us on the paths of life. Let us cling to Him to walk together in all our life’s circumstances. Let us rejoice, be glad, and choose life. The two-day formation in healing from trauma was nothing but a gift from the Lord who accompanies our journey.”
“My heartfelt thanks to the Bible Society, organizers, and facilitators of this course, whose skills are honed with a spirit of humility and preparedness. They exerted great and remarkable effort during this fruitful course, which in itself was a profound human experience and a great blessing for me, for which I thank God.”
The Bible Society extends its gratitude to all who participated, as well as to the dedicated trainers who made these events such a success. May these programs continue to bear fruit in the lives of those who attended and the people whom they will implement it with.
The Bible Society’s mission is to spread the Holy Bible’s message and culture to all generations through translating, publishing, and distributing the Scriptures using visual, audio-visual, readable, and digital formats, encouraging people to read and engage with God’s word, advocating the Bible cause to uphold human dignity, and partnering with all Churches and Christian institutions.
