“Book of Life” Graduation Ceremony

On Saturday, July 1, 2023, Bible Society organized a graduation ceremony for the students of “Book of Life” Program at Patriarch Bechara El Rahi’s Hall at NDL Zouk Mosbeh. The event celebrated the graduation of the fifth and final level participants of the program.

Most participated in the gathering in person, while those who could not attend, whether they were in Lebanon or abroad, joined remotely through the Zoom application.

The program consisted of five formative levels and started in 2018 with a small group, but has now grown to include around 420 students from Lebanon and several countries around the world.

The ceremony began with a welcoming word from Dr. Mike Bassous, General Secretary of Bible Society – Lebanon, who also leads the fifth level of the program. He addressed the concept of leadership in crisis and its connection to the Bible. Dr. Bassous expressed his great joy in seeing the participants’ enthusiasm and commitment, especially the graduates who have become ambassadors for the Holy Bible Community in Lebanon and the world.

Approximately 12 students from different levels of the program gave testimonies of their experiences during dialogue sessions moderated by their colleague Elise Massoud. These sessions demonstrated the impact of the program on their perception of God, their perception of others, their love for the Bible, and their desire to spread it through all means.

Afterwards, the graduating students from Levels 4 & 5 of the program were honored with the awarding of certificates followed by a small surprise prepared by the “Book of Life” team.

Deacon Joe Eid, Programs Coordinator at Bible Society, who leads the first four levels of the program, delivered a speech of gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the program. He concluded by expressing thanks to God for His blessings and constant Presence in His Word.

The ceremony concluded with cutting the cake and celebrating this occasion, along with taking multiple commemorative photos.
