Monsignor Boulos Feghali was born on November 28, 1935, in Kafr El-Abeda, Batroun. He completed his elementary and secondary studies in the Jesuit seminary. He held a BA in theology from St. Joseph’s University of the Jesuit Fathers in Beirut, along with master’s degrees in philosophy and theology. He also earned language diplomas in Hebrew, Syriac, and Greek from French universities.

He received doctorates in theology (with a focus on writing) and philosophy (with a focus on the history of religions) from the Sorbonne University in Paris. He served as Director and then Head of the Maronite Sagesse School in Beirut and taught at several universities in Lebanon.

Monsignor Feghali was the former coordinator of the Bible Association in the East and served on the Administrative Board of the Bible Society for over 20 years. He worked with the Society as a linguist on the Good News Arabic Bible translation of the Old Testament, developing titles for passages and parts of the Bible, as well as an extensive reference document on the New Testament.

He published over 350 books. The Bible Society honored him in 2014 for his dedication to Bible translation and his long service on the Society’s administrative board. He passed away in 2020, leaving behind a lasting legacy in biblical scholarship and education.
